Hi. unable to send e mail directly to you I’m afraid. My bike is a De-luxe K63 = 380389
Let me know the color and your location when you can. Jack
Just for the record, my bike is a blue coloured Major (not Deluxe) with frame number 035175 Does that mean it was manufactured in 1975? The four speed hub is stamped 66 and USA 301852
Apparently it was ridden only about 10 times and then stored for approximately 35 years and is in fantastic condition. Needless to say I have regreased all bearings and changed the tyres!
A beautiful bike which is great fun to ride.
Jeremy, send me your location when you can. Your bike is a 1966 Major. It may be one of the “very few” non 4 speeds sold through Huffy in the USA.
I have single speed coaster brake hub in my gold Huffy assembled Moulton stowaway. My bike is for sale and im in San Antonio tx. clarencekokkinis@aim.com
I HAVE A MOULTON MAJOR FRAME NO 018951 DATED 2 66 ON THE 4 SPEED HUB IT IS COMPLETE WITH ORIGONAL BAG AND INFLATER IT HAS HAD VERY LITTLE USE AND IS IN GOOD CONDITION SOME OF THE WHITE CABLE CLIPS HAVE COME OFF. IF THERE ARE ANY MEMBERS IN THE NORTH TYNESIDE AREA LOOKING TO PURCHASE A NICE MOULTON MY PHONE IS 01912523863 RAY STOREY AT WHITLEY BAY. THANK YOU
Added your info to the Registry and posted your ad on the Moulton Bicycle facebook page. I’m sure it will be sold quickly.

Hi Jack
Thank you very much for sending me a copy of the Preserved Moulton Register. It confirms that the Automatic is a rare bike only made in 1966 at BoA and the Major is also a rare bike.
Apparently only 1,242 Majors were sold and 566 Major Deluxes.
Also apparently more Automatics were made in 1966 (possible less than 3,000) than Majors between September 1968 and May 1970, but considerably more Majors seem to have survived: a testament to the fact that Raleigh could build a good frame and paint it with a good quality paint.
There are only 21 Automatics listed on the Register and I only saw 2 full-sized models at BoA this year.
As far as I’m aware all Majors were made between September 1968 and May 1970 and the 4 speed preceded the 3 speed.
I have a 4 speed Major in excellent original condition (except for the non-original Brooks saddle). The frame number is an enigmatic 116989. The previous owner bought it in 1969.
No one has been able to crack the Raleigh numbering code.
A job for Bletchley Park methinks.
Hi
I have a molten Speed Six which my father bought me new back in around 1966. Ive owned it ever since but it has been in storage since I got a car back in the early 1970’s. It is dry stored in a heated garage under a dust cover but Im now 66 years old and fancy riding it again. The problem is that I need new tyres. Can you tell me where I can get them. They seem to be special to the Speed Six. The bike is completely original in good condition. I just need some tyres.
Regards
Clive Large
Probably way too late, or you have found the answer elsewhare (you are right the preserved Moultons registry thread is the wrong place), but according to Paul Grogan’s book The ‘Classic’ Moultons, the Sppedsix model had ERTO 32-369 tyres (as oppose to 37-349) on most other so called 16″ wheel Moultons. Modern tyres describe that size as 17″ I think.
Only such tyre I can find is Schwalbe Kojak HS385 Folding Tyre – 17 x 1 1/4 Inch 32-369 – the wired variant is not in 369, never tried a folding tyre on an 1960’s wheel though.
PS
Im not sure that Ive sent this to the rite place, please reply.
