This appeal from Thames Valley Police:
The force was called to the road traffic collision in Drayton Road at about 4.15pm today.
A cyclist, who was riding the pictured bicycle, had come off his bicycle.
It is not believed that any other vehicles were involved in the collision.
Thames Valley Police has been attempting to locate the man’s next of kin and is appealing for anyone who knows him to come forward.
Investigating officer, Police Sergeant Chris Ruff of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “The cyclist is a white man in his forties or fifties, about 5ft 8ins, of slim build with greying hair, a brown beard and blue eyes.
“He was wearing blue lycra shorts, a blue top and a grey and blue helmet.
“We are releasing a picture of his bicycle which is a dark green Moulton with a cream coloured seat.
“We have tried to locate the man’s next of kin but without success at this stage of the investigation, therefore we are publishing this appeal in the hope his family comes forward.
“The man is currently in the John Radcliffe Hospital with serious injuries.
“Anyone who thinks they might know the man please call police on 101 and quote reference number 1037 (3/6).
“We also want to hear from anyone who saw the cyclist in the vicinity of Drayton Road this afternoon.”
