    Hello all,

Some time ago I wrote on here that I was getting ready to make a chainwheel for my Mk3. The 57 tooth one I have is too small and I had memories of the gearing on the S Speed I used to ride which had a 68.

Since these are impossible to find I decided to make one, and since some commented that others might be interested I bought enough of the 7075 T6 alloy to make several, did some CAD, got some quotes for the basic machining, and sorted out how to machine the reduced thickness for the teeth and the chamfer at the tips.

I’ve just finished machining the first one, which is ready to go apart form a good polish to make it absolutely beautiful.

Photos are in the photo section once I can work out how to link them.

So this is pretty much identical to the original TA chainrings for Stronglight or TA cranks with the small PCD five bolt pattern, made from the correct alloy in the correct hard temper, with laser cut teeth and the thickness reduced by milling on a rotary table.

Price for one of these to members is 80€ or £70 or $105 plus postage at the real cost.

I can make other sizes, and other PCD combinations for other cranks if you persuade me !

Let me know if you want one.

I’ve now polished the first one and fitted it to my bike.

Only one 68 tooth chainring left. I also made a 62 for me, but I’m very happy with the 68 on my bike, so I will sell that one as well if anyone’s interested.
