APB Land Rover parts

    Hi everyone,

    I bought my APB Land Rover new in September 1996. The Sachs Centera derailleur died long ago and it was replaced (on the recommendation of a Halfords technician) with a Shimano Sora mech, which has worked quite well. It is now time to replace it and I would like to know if anyone could suggest a good quality replacement.

    Although I have a background in engineering, in the motor industry, I am not particularly knowledgeable when it comes to bicycle components. So it would be really helpful if some knowledgable person could point me in the right direction.

    Lastly, I am also looking for a replacement seat post, so If anyone knows where one can be sourced I would be grateful for that information too.

    Any Shimano (not SRAM) 7 speed mech with the same cage length should fit. Can be tricky getting hold of new, good quality components of what the bicycle industry considers ‘outdated’.
