Hello all, new member here, loving my TSR with ARCC electric drive. I got 4 and 6AH batteries when I bought the bike just over a year back (May 2021). The 6AH battery failed after only a few months, showing a fault when fitted to the charger after exhibiting much reduced capacity. ARCC replaced the battery without a quibble, but now the replacement is doing the same! Ride this morning, both batteries fully charged, 6AH begain to show a slight amber light at about 8 miles and ran out at 15. Switched to the 4AH, that starting to just show amber at ~9 miles when I got back hone, from experience it would go on to 16 – 20 miles. Has anyone else had problems with the bigger Bosch batteries please?

Had a similar problem with the first 6AH battery 2 or 3 years ago, which ARCC replaced. There’s supposed to be 9AH battery available now (which ARCC themselves don’t sell), but I can’t find any for sale in the UK, and even Bosch’s own website doesn’t mention.

Our Moulton electric has about the same range 8 or 9 for 4Ah and 12 to 15 for the 6Ah. I recon on about 20 miles with both batteries fully charged. This seems to be consistent over the months we tend to keep the settings on automatic and are in a hilly area.

Thanks Phil – is that to first showing Amber or to empty? So your 6AH is giving ~50% longer range than the 4AH as expected. I’m in quite flat terrain in Suffolk/Essex/Cambs, seem to consistently get ~20 on the 4 and 25 on the 6AH, only about 25% more on the latter.

I live quite hilly south Shropshire, I tested on a new bike, 11 speed nexus hub the 6Ah gave 12 miles the 4Ah 8 miles. the indicator goes amber about 2 miles from red and stop.
