I would welcome any thoughts on the best option for a Brooks saddle for my TSR27 which I use for commuting and some longer distance touring.. Many thanks.

I use the same type of Brooks saddle on my TSR (did 1400km LEL in under 5 days recently) as on my big-wheeled Frezoni Audax bike, a B17 Standard Select. Saddles are very personal though and the Brooks (or other make of) saddle that suits me may not suit you. Which Brooks saddles have you used before?

As Dave says, saddles are a very personal affair; that said, I never to on with a Swift, I like the B17 but my favourite is the Swift. A bit more pricey but a lovely saddle. Will you be at BoA? If you are, you’ll get the chance to see quite a few Brookses there…

Thanks for the replies. I have never used a Brooks saddle before. I find the Selle Royale Viper supplied too ‘short’ both in the rail and length of saddle itself. I will look at both suggestions.

Bit late to the party but I use a Brooks Swallow for all my rides (80 mile/week commuting, audax rides, light touring) and couldn’t be happier.

I prefer the professional to the swift that’s fitted to my tsr,I may change them over.

If you think you are “too stretched” on the Viper or prefer a very upright riding style then a Brooks Swift may work for you.
I have the Swift on my TSR 30 and the Viper on my TSR 27. Both are about the same length (10.25 inches for the Viper and 10.50 for the Swift).
Although of relatively modest stature and apparently short-armed I have the Swift at almost maximum stretch distance.
Of course a shorter or longer stem set a different angle can also help with adjustment.
    Definitely try before you buy.

I have now changed the swift on my tsr for a professional and it feels right straight away ,being a longer and wider saddle fits me much better,so if anyone wants to buy the swift it’s for sale.
