    Hello one and all,
I thought it would be nice to do an article about Carradice for the magazine
seeing as they make Moulton bags and I imagine quite a few of us have used their
bags at some time or other. I’m visiting this Thursday so if anyone has any
questions they’d like me to ask just let me know (keep them clean!).

    Matt,

This is a great idea.. I am pretty local as you know to Carradice (just half an hour down the M65), perhaps we can get them to do a run of F frame rear bags in cotton duck, complete with internal stiffener, perhaps a bag in the style of the original ‘speed’ bag may be a good start? The Safari bags are superb, but very heavy- I reckon the speed style bag would be much simpler, I may have an old bag that is in bits somewhere, perhaps to be able to get a pattern??

Hope you are well, work has been manic to say the least this week, my apologies for not getting back to you sooner, its a crazy old time at the moment..

I visited them a few months ago, the heady smell of leather and cotton duck.. it is superb, any self respecting cyclist who admires British made quality should visit them- another example of a long lasting brand with great sustainable values.

    Enjoy..

    Tom

Good to hear from you Tom, it’s all good. Hope things will calm down soon, still, in these time I guess being busy can only be a good thing. Shame we don’t get paid anymore for it : o )
Anyway, Speed bag sounds pretty good, I think the simpler the better, I listened to a radio interview earlier where David said he liked collaborating with other English companies. I’m sure a F Frame/AM/APB style bag will go down a storm even if it’s of a limited run. If it’s simple then it’ll be easier to produce and there’s definitely a demand for some kind of Moulton bag from what I can tell, where else can we buy this kind of thing?
The visit is booked for Thursday morning, not sure you can make it but it’ll be great to go mob handed if you can make it.
    Hope all is well,
    Matt
