I suppose I am not the first person this have ever happened to:

Riding home the other day on my Moulton Deluxe, I felt the chain go tight. I thought the wheel had slipped, but when I got home and turned it over, I saw a large crack in the frame behind the bottom bracket (note — not the swingarm), where the pivot is.

    Crack

I’m assuming that this is knackered, but I wanted to get a second opinion before I commit it to the scrapheap.

If it is indeed dead, I’ll have a few parts for sale, if anyone is interested (think of anything on a deluxe, minus the frame …)

You could just ask if any one has a spare frame and then use your parts on that. It’s worth contacting Moulton preservation they may be able to help.

it might be caused by the rear suspension bolt being seized or rust.you’d have to remove the suspension assembly to find out.if you need a spare frame i’ve got one in my shed ,will be doing a clear in a couple of weeks.alternatively a competent car garage with a welding facility should be able to fix it, assuming it’s not rusted out

If you are getting rid of it for parts, l need a stem & brake levers.
