Hi i’m a new member having recently purchased an APB from an old club mate from many years ago.
Although having cycled for most of my life, have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation so i’m thinking of fitting an electric motor into front wheel, with battery fitted/sitting on the front carrier.
Has anyone carried out this modification – any information would be gratefully received.

A few of us have fitted ARCC systems to our Moultons:
    https://arccinnovations.com/
Mine is on ATB (forerunner of the APB) tandem conversion.
The standard of engineering is very high, the price is the best part of £2k.
The system works very well and unobtrusively.

    Hi Keith
Thanks for your reply and details. I had found ARCC but they seem to sell only the Moulton c/w electric conversion? Thereby the price level of £2k? I am looking for a conversion kit to fit to my existing APB – did you obtain front wheel/motor + controls from them?
    Regards, Eddie

    Hi Keith
Had another look at their website and yes can see the pricing as approaching £2k for the conversion. Did you purchase a kit or did they fit to your ATB.
I know it depends on terrain/use, but approx. what sort of range do you achieve on 1 battery?
It seems expensive, but it looks to be first class quality.
    Regards, Eddie

ARCC will convert owners’ existing Moultons, they had mine for 2/3 weeks. I chose to take and collect it from their (near) Cambridge base, worth it to speak with them and see the facilities. They also have an office in London near Finchley Road where you can leave and collect.

The current battery is a Bosch 4Ah, apparently good for up to 30 miles on a solo, but we get less than 20 on the tandem. We are awaiting the new Bosch 6Ah battery, due next month. We opted for the fast charger which takes only 30 minutes to fully recharge, and take this to use at tea stops rather than a spare battery, as it is lighter.

Sometime I’d like to try it with the bike in solo form to compare the range!

Thanks for the information. I am down in Cornwall (far west) where the roads are either going up or down (not a lot of flat) so thought that a spare battery would be the best option but a fast charger is a good idea.
I’ll give them a call and possibly visit their Cambridge base. The idea is (other than local rides) to take the Moulton on the Camper Van and ride the Sustrans Traffic Free Trails around the UK.
Thanks again for the info Keith, very helpful.
