    Hi!

As I’m living near the french border, I was touring in the Alsace last weekend. I had two different types of reaction from other people. The first man was very curious about the Moulton, took a picture of it. Then when I overtook a group of racing driver I heard laughter. Perhaps the guy never saw a bike with little wheels going faster than him.
As the Moulton arouse much curiosity I’m not sure which type of bicycle lock I will take with me (Weight!) when touring in France for 2 or 3 weeks (I don’t stay in bigger cities).

    Regards Peter

Certainly take a lock and fasten your bike to a permanent object like railings or a post. Also if you stop to eat and drink try and position the bike so that you can see it. My bike is insured as part of my household insurance so long as it is locked and secured to a “permanent structure”. That’s what I do riding in rural England and I suspect it would be sensible to do the same in rural France. Having your bike and belongings stolen can take the shine off any touring holiday.
