Some three weeks ago I posted this in the members only forum and received 2 replies, so I am posting it in the open forum just to see if it attracts any more!
I have been looking for a front bag for my recently restored F Frame, the Superbe style to match my rear one. One pop up on eBay and I joned the fray but it fetched more than I felt I was willing to pay – over £100!
So my question is, just how rare are they? What chance is there of finding one?
If they are so difficult to source has anyone go one they can supply the measurements from as i am sure that I could make one for less than £100, The clip could come from a very tatty rear that I have.
    Any pointers advice welcome.

    thank you

    Bob,

I too have been looking for front bags and keep getting out bid on ebay when they show up. Your 100 GBP equates to about 160 USD for me right now and I just have a hard time stepping up for that much money. I could sew the bags together if I could get a pattern. I’ve got access to an industrial sewing machine for car interior upholstry and gould give it a go. I do have rear bags that I have already studied and have though about giving it a try. A pattern for the front would be nice to have though. Not sure I would want to go into production, but if I’m successful I could knock a small batch out. I’ll be seeing my buddy this weekend who owns this sewing machine. I’ll ask him if I can snag it from him for a while. I’m sure he won’t mind, it’s just sitting in the corner of his garage collecting dust. This machine would be perfect for these bags because it doen’t have a large table base on it. I can also talk to my interior guy and see what vinyl matches are available. I’m sure I could get tan, beige/white, and black. I’d also like to give Middlemores seat covers a go too!

Ian been away in France hence delay in replying. It would be fabulous to get a batch made up. I’ll ask around the club here in Uk to see if anyone can help with a pattern. I have found sources for the vinyl here in UK so should be available over there.
If you ever do make some put me at the top of the list!

Put me on the list too for one beige/white rear bag suitable for a Mark 2 Deluxe and /or a Moulton Major.

Ok, we will see how it goes. I’ll start looking into materials and see what I can do to get my hands on that sewing machine. I have the black rear bag off of my Speed that is completely falling apart. The vinyl is in good shape, and it would also make a great pattern. I’d like to sew it back together too.
