The front suspension on my completely standard ’63 F-Frame Delux almost bottoms out under my very modest 11 stone body weight. Which adversaly affects the steering geometry. I’ve read somewhere on this forum that it’s posible to adjust the pre-load via a modification. Can somebody describe to me how this is done please?

Hi there – if you go to the Bicycle hub link in the list of links on this page, there is an excellent site run by Brian Olney which includes front fork renovation and suggests using a bit of broom handle to stiffen the suspension. I haven’t tried it myself but he has detailed instructions on the whole process.
