Can anyone help – I cheaply bought a few 16″ 28 hole wheel rims to find that my F-framed front wheel is a 24 hole!! Darn it!! (the replacements were the wrong ERTRO no. / size anyhow!!)

My F-Frame’s front wheel is 24H and back wheel is 28H and both wheels (ERTRO 349) have the same rim wall patterns on the braking part of the rim They certainly look original but are they???

Does anyone know where I can get a 24H and 28H (ERTRO 349) rims from the same manufacturer??

I have found some cheap Brompton tyres and inner tubes so ok on that one.

Also if anyone has an idea on good replacement brake callipers and parts that would be a bonus. Thanks.

Tektro rs559 calipers are lovely on f frames, just make sure they are the long drop 50mm plus size drops, I made the mistake of buying the rs539 calipers and they were too short.

Ditto to what Des said. except I run an Alongha on the front and a Diacompe dual pivot on the rear. Makes an enormous difference with my style of riding (do like descending fast!) and the topography I ride.

28 hole rims are easy to find, 24 holes are significantly more difficult to find. No doubt you’ve found this already. Can only suggest you give St Joh Street cycles a shout. They seem to be able to find odd stuff.

I’ll second the Tektro R559 calipers. I have used them on several F Frames. Make sure you get the “nutted” version, not the recessed version. https://www.flickr.com/photos/7355589@N02/sets/72157644783036278
I might suggest you could probably source a 28 hole front hub easier than finding a 24/28 set of rims.
