    Hello,

I’m working on my 1965 Moulton 4-speed that has been in our family since it was new. My mum brought it with her over to the states back in the early 70s.

I’m renovating the front forks. I removed the abutment and the top retaining screw and everything (long spring, rebound stop, and short spring) came out except for the stool at the top of the steering tube that the short spring goes over.

So my question is does the stool inside the top of steerer tube come out? If so, does anyone have any idea(s) how to remove it from the steerer tube? Or was it pressed in permanently at the factory?

    Thanks for your help!

    Regards,
    Timothy

    Thanks Stan,

I read those superb instructions before I began working on my forks. The stool inside I believe is permanently in the steerer tube because I see no way of removing it.

However, I looked at a diagram and it shows the stool out of the steering tube.
