Hello, My name is George and new to the world of Moulton. Im looking to purchase my first F frame very shortly. I am looking at a bicycle and had some concerns about missing parts which brought me here. It is a 65 Standard missing the chain, kick stand, a tension spring? in the 4 speed shifter and saddle post & saddle. What should I expect to pay for these parts? Would help greatly in considering if and how much I should pay. I look foward to learning and maybe one day I can return the favor. — George

Where is ‘Asbury Park’? I have a feeling you might be in the USA, so the prices we pay in the UK will be less relevant.

However, the kickstand was a pretty regular bicycle part of the late 60’s early 70’s and I would not expect to have to pay too much for one over here. £10 maybe? The 4-speed shifter will be harder, I think they might be repairable, but sourcing another will be £15-£20 on ebay in the UK. Saddle post is a simple 1″ chrome tube and the saddle will depend on what you want. Here I would expect you could get a tatty saddle for a few pounds, or have to pay £100 for a leather Middlemore with a Moulton badge. The chain you can get new from a bicycle shop for whatever chains cost you.

    Any use?

“Greetings from Asbury Park” is Bruce Springsteens first studio album and maybe 15 minutes from my house in NJ, USA. Asbury Park has alot of muscial history. I was worried some parts would be expensive / hard to find. Nothing to scare me away from buying the bicycle. The bike is maybe 2x what you would expect to pay in UK but they do not come up often and this one is local to me.
