    Hi all,

Has anyone managed to attach a Klickfix fitting to the front of their Moulton TSR? I have a Carradice box which I would like to fit on.

The front pannier rack seems to have bolt holes at the front which might work? However I haven’t seen one in the flesh.

Klickfix refers to number of Rixen & Kaul fittings for various mounting applications – which particular fitting are you referring to?

What might work is the Rixen & Kaul Klickfix head tube adapter (to adapt a bar mount to a head tube mount), in combination with a couple of DMR clamps (of suitable diameter) to provide the mounting bosses. Or use the same clamps with the specific R&K KlikFix head-tube mount.

I originally included links to the components suggested – intended to be helpful, but the post was rejected as spam (unhelpfully). Ask the question on https://plus.google.com/communities/101161989073079318132 perhaps if you want the details.

R&K also have a stem adaptor that can be used in place of A-Head spacers if a higher mounting point and bag moving with the steering is OK. See http://www.klickfix.de and navigate to Adaptor Overview->Handlebar Adapter System to see this and the head-tube adaptors mentioned earlier.

Seems the forum will accept one link per post. The clamp suggested can be found at https://www.merlincycles.com/dmr-hinged-clamp-65637.html (amongst others).

    Hi Clifford,

Thanks for the info and links. The head tube adapter looks like the job. I was thinking of something similar to the picture of the electric conversion you posted on the google group.

Do you happen to know if the bolt holes on the front pannier rack line up with the brazed mount on the front of a Brompton or Dahon? Rixen and Kaul have a fitting to go onto that which would be more secure than the band.

FYI, I managed to mount a Brompton front carrier block on my Jubilee using the mounting points for the front pannier rack.

    Hi Jean-Pierre,
Thanks for that. Is it custom made?

I used an original Brompton front carrier block mounted on a (unfortunately ugly) stainless steel custom mounting frame that uses the original mounting points for the front pannier rack.

It is done on a Jubilee, but can also be done on a TSR or SST that also has similar mounting points.

Since these mounting points are made for the front pannier rack, they are strong enough for a Brompton front bag.
