If you are tired on kneeling on the ground when.working on your bike, pop down to a Lidl store this week, they are selling a good strong and stable workshop stand for £24.99,

bought one from there last year used it a few times on different bikes, diamond frame, folding shopper and moulton and it is a good piece of kit, only thing that’s awkward is the hinged plastic feet when setting up

Buy cheap buy twice. I purchased a cheap stand it was ok and did the job for a year or so. As I did more and more maintenance I upgraded to a Park Tools PCS-10

It cost about three times as much but I funded it out of some small profits I was making building small wheels and doing electric conversions for people. I would highly recommend it.

The cheap unit, was it the stand on sale at Lidl this week? Agree with buy cheap buy twice thinking, but the Lidl stand appears to be strong and well made and I hope it will last for several years

No it was a fixed stand off ebay. Very robust and as I said did the job intially. However the PC-10 jaw grip is excellent and allows full movement and 360 degree rotation which is great for my Bromptons 🙂

thge lidl’s stand will do me for a while and the “grip” seems to work very well on the main frame tube

99p stores have a very reasonably priced (99p!) puncture repair outfit at the moment with two steel tyre levers, two spare valve caps, 7 patches, 2 tubes of glue and a steel spanner and some allen keys.i would rate this kit above one i bought in hellfrauds for over 5 times the price with plastic tyre levers that bend on a small 16 inch wheel, whoever invented plastic tyre levers needs something doing to them!
