Too large a chainwheel will probably foul the rear supension pivot bolt. Will a 58 tooth chainwheel fit an F-frame without such an issue? If a 58T is too large will a 56T or 54T be suitable?

Hello, I have a 63 tooth chainwheel, made by TA, fitted to my Speedsix.
It has about a 1 mm clearance to the pivot hole nut head.
There have been a few specials with larger numbers of teeth, but I think the pivot bolt nut heat probably had to be seriously reduced in thickness.

I’ve run 60 and 65 TA chainrings on my speedsix without problem. You could always run a wider BB axle and space the freewheel to get the chainline spot on, although with a 5 or 6 speed freewheel you can get away with the chainline being out by a few mm.
