Has anyone ever converted a non-suspension mini with a front suspension from one with? I have a nice non-suspension mini and I have a fork with suspension form a mini… looks like the steering tube needs cut doen, but wasn’t sure if it was that simple?

    It has been done.

Awesome, thanks! It looked as if it could be done, but wondered what set backs might be in the works.

Ok, so here’s another question. I have a really nice unrestored mini without front suspension. Am I making a mistake by converting it to a front suspension fork, or enhancing the value? I get the feeling that the ones without front suspension really don’t have any real value. I bought this one in excellent original condition off of eBay a few years ago for 35.00 usd. I actually lucked out and was able to get it shipped to me for free by the help of a buddy who had a container coming to the US at the time.

So, even though I don’t have a lot of money in it, I still don’t want to make a mistake by altering it. Curious to get club members opinions.

The addition of suspension to a fixed fork bike can only be an improvement, as you rightly say the later raleigh produced frames are of little value unsprung?

I agree with Ken, a Mini without front suspension is a pretty pointless bike. Low value and not of any great interest.

Make it into a ‘special’ that you want has to be a good way of doing something useful with it!
