It was great to be at my first Moulton club meeting last weekend, lots of interesting Moultons to see. Thanks to everyone who made the event possible.
My only disappointment was not being able to see the classic Moultons in the museum.
I was told that they have been removed & placed in storage.
Why have they been removed, where are they now, who has control of them, & when will they be back on show ?

    Hi Clive
I don’t know the answers to your questions but I would image that they have been removed to order to use the space for other purposes and stored somewhere safe by the owner whom I suspect is the Moulton Bicycle Company and/or trustees of the estate or someone closely associated with these two bodies.
I don’t know if putting them back on show features in the plans of the MBC/Trustees.

    I have received a reply,
    Dear Clive,
Thank you for your comments and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the weekend.
The greenhouse building that housed the museum has been unsafe (and not weather-proof) for some time and the bicycles were removed from there some five years ago. Initially they were stored in the cellars of The Hall but were later removed to a dry store off-site at the request of the Alex Moulton Charitable Trust.
The Trust and the Bicycle Company are working hard to secure the future of The Hall and its surroundings and it is hoped that, in due course, the collection will again be exhibited on site.
    Many thanks,
    Dan
