I bought the TSR with dual drive, about a year ago, second hand.

Being curious to try separating the bike, I did last week. Unfortunately, on removing the headset cap, the spacers flew in all directions. I found them, but not the inner part(s)to which the headset cap bolt must attach.

Is anyone familiar with the parts required please ? And where I might buy them, I assume a complete cap assembly will be needed.

I can’t be the first hopefully.

It is usually a Tange Technoglide headset (1″ threadless being a technologcal dead end, so choice is limited). They are not expensive.

The current spec sheet for the bike on the Moulton website lists “Tange Seiki threadless 1″,sealed”.

Currently available at Mercian cycles for £30

Many thanks to Roger and Dale. This is excellent information. It looks like I have to buy a complete headset after all .

It might be too late but it sounds like you’re describing the star nut, it should be stuck in the steerer tube and shouldn’t go anywhere.
