It’s marked as “currently unavailable” by Amazon but Waterstones have it for £65 (!) here: http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/products/daved+sanders/moultoneering/10021427/

Thanks for the link Richard – the correct price for the book is £70 and will be available at the Meet. The Flyer reads:

In sleet and snow in the Alps during summertime. Of a high speed puncture with more than 80 holes. Escaping the antlers
of deer in Austria and battling the weather on the 1978 Centenary Ride. Photographs of MkIV, S Speed and others from archives. Read the First Issue of the Club magazine – The Moulton Cyclist.

    £70 for a book?? Even about Moultons…..
I thought there was a ‘Classified Section’ for this commercial activity?? I didn’t join this club, and pay my fees, to receive ‘offers’ from other members with clearly commercial motives in the forums….

No wonder the forums are underused. I don’t want to be reading ads in the forums. That is not the place for them in my opinion.

A heavy proportion of the recent forum postings are deleted spam. I’m thinking that all commercial activity should be deleted also.

    Hello John,
I certainly don’t want commercial activity on the forum.

I have never met nor corresponded with Daved. I haven’t seen the book, and the price tag did raise an eyebrow.

Moultons are quite a minority interest and, despite there being over half a century of Moulton history, there are very few books on the subject. When a new book comes out, I think that is a genuine news item, rather than something that should be confined to the classifieds section.

The few books that do exist on the subject, by Tony Hadland and Paul Grogan in particular, seem to me to have been labours of love, intended to further document Moulton history and enhance our knowledge of it. They certainly don’t seem to have been motivated by profit.

While the authors may or may not have recouped publication costs, I doubt that the effort that went into producing them was repaid.

Daved’s book may turn out to be an overpriced profit-driven endeavour, but I have a feeling that is not the case and I think for now it is worth the benefit of the doubt.

I am looking forward to hearing the reviews.
