    Hello all,
Wondering if anyone can help me. I am trying to find out the details of the original pump that fits in the rear luggage rack. The manufacturer, size and colour.
The restoration of my 64 Standard is nearly complete, looking forward to using it when the summer gets here..
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello David,
I’ve just seen your post about the pump. If it’s any help, my Standard, which I bought new in April 1964 (I’ve recently found the original receipt), frame number K64 070065 came with a white pump 10 1/2 inches long to fit the lugs on the carrier. The brand name on the handle is ‘Dover’ in an elliptical logo. It has an aluminium end piece to take the original connector (long since lost or perished), which was light green ridged rubber, not fabric covered. Of course the company may have used different suppliers at different times. Hope this helps. And I wonder if the AW hub on your machine rattles as loudly as mine always has.

I’ve also got the same pump on an original K65 Stowaway. Seems to be the right pump for the period. Green ribbed connector, etc.

If you click on it you get the proper, skinny version: )

My experience with Dover pumps is that the ‘handle section’ tends to distort over time, and cracks sometimes in use. Result is that if you want a good, complete, working one, they are few and far between.

But it you want one for completeness, etc. then the defects don’t matter much. A 10″ pump is hard work, even if it does work.

Tim Toman. I’ve got a 3 speed with an annoying rattle also, but I thought mine was caused by the mudguard…. ??
