Is anyone else having problems makeing a payment to the club?
PayPal tells me to use a validated name,mobile, or email address. It doesn’t recognise The Moulton Bicycle Club.
My attemted bank transfer was also rejected.

Have had general problems trying to use Paypal like you with set up specific PayPal coded addresses(I guess like the one for the MBC) for a company and a school charity -their instructions don’t seem relevant and there is no where else to go to record the reference you have. Derek G

I’ve given up on Paypal. Not obvious how to generate a new regular recurring payment (Although I’ve established its necessary to cancel the old one, the amount can’t just be changed). Using the link from the membership entries here leads me to an invite to register for a Paypal account but I already have one. I use Paypal to pay for things where the seller “invoices” me, I don’t want to spend time becoming a master of their system for this one payment.

Much simpler, I thought, to set up a Standing Order as nowadays I use BACS payments all the time. Entered the bank details from the Bradford on Avon meeting page of the magazine and my bank (Nationwide) says the bank details are incorrect. I hope, though, that its more to do with their message they are experiencing “Technical problems” at the moment.
I’ll try Nationwide again this evening – I trust those bank details are indeed correct?

I have had a reply from the membership secretary (some days ago) and it seems the bank details in the latest magazine (for payment of the Bradford on Avon meeting) was incorrect . The error is the last character of the bank account number. It should be “0” (zero) not “9”.

My bank has now allowed me to set up a Standing Order, which I will be able to amend for any changes in the subscription.

(I should think, though for payments from non GB £ currencies, Paypal is still an easier way to pay).
