Hello. I’ve just bought a Moulton Minx 1969, and realised there is a little play or movement when steering. It’s not really noticeable when riding, but when stationary, if I turn the handlebars left to right and back again the play is fairly pronounced.. also with the bike upside down, I can see the splined tube under the rubber gator is rotating slightly when I turn the front wheel from left to right.
Having researched some of the posts here, it seems fairly likely it is caused by a damaged nylon bushing in the steering tube..
My couple of questions are: if this is the cause.. are the bushes available anywhere???, (and are they a standard size and compatible with the Minx (1969).??
Also… although I’ve no idea how long it has been ridden like that, would I cause irreversible damage to other components if I were to continue riding it in this state.???
I do intend to strip it down and have a closer look… but I’ve only had the bike a few days. So, I just thought it was worth checking if anyone has any experience of this problem.I really appreciate any help or suggestions anyone might have.
    Best wishes. Sean.
