    Having tried to fit a modern Tektro brake caliper and finding it needs packing for it to function.
    It really does not seem like the best option. So what would be the best caliper for the rear brake

    So the alternatives I have considered are;
    1) Steel caliper, 2) Alloy GB caliper, 3) Weinmann or something else similar on ebay

    Any advice welcomed

    I was thinking of trying these brakes
    Dia Compe 808 Bike Brake Calipers Silver High Leverage – Front & Rear

    The Tektro 559 need spacers at the rear forks to allow them to work, I was hoping these may work at the rear without a stack of spacers, and wondered if anyone else has experience of these or other more modern brakes at the rear of an original F Frame.

    I have fitted centre pull brakes to one of my f frames. The rear one is underneath the forks. All that’s needed are a couple of home made brackets for the cable adjusting screw. Pictures available from clive.fenner@btinternet.com
