    Hi,

I have a Huffy 4 speed frame with a rusted seat tube. It appears as if water collected up inside the tube and rusted from the inside out. I have a complete bike that I would like to put back together again, but need to replace the seat tube. Would anyone happen to have a damaged or junk frame that they could sacrifice a seat tube from? Happy to work out a deal and pay postage, or I can collect at BOA next month. Thanks!

    Hi Ian,
Just saw this, do you need a seat post or a seat tube? Bit confused I’m afraid.
I’ve got a couple of seat posts, I think, I can bring one to BoA if that’s what you need.

Sorry about that Matt. What I need is the entire seat tube, not the post that the saddle mounts on. This would be the entire section of frame from the bottom to the top where the serial number is stamped.

Oh blimey, that sounds pretty serious! Your best bet, in that case, might be to post a letter to Michael Woolf of Moulton Preservation (he doesn’t do email), he might have something from an otherwise dead bike.
Sorry I can’t be more help,
    Matt

Roger that. I’ll hold off until I’m over there any maybe talk to him in person. Something will eventually show up.
