The AM rims from SJS cycles:

Does anyone have the ERD for this rim, I think it is 360mm, I’m planning to lace a Shimano Alfine 8-speed hub gear to this 32 hole rim, I have ordered 152mm spokes for a 2-cross pattern lacing

I don’t know if those rims are the same as the ones I got from BoA a year or so ago – but mine appear to have an ERD of 350mm. Leastwise if I were going to collect some spokes from SJS (I live quite near) that is the figure I would calculate with. But your rims may be different!

Further to that – this website says ‘Velocity Synergy Actually a 17″ (ISO 369) rim for Moulton bicycles’ has an ERD of 351.0mm

I’m pretty sure that it is Velocity that make the Moulton rims these days.

I measured the rim using two spokes, the nipple is fitted to each spoke, the heads of the spokes are cut off, with the spoke nipple seated in diametrically oppposite spokeholes, the overlap of the two spokes is measured, the individual lengths of each spoke is also measured, subtracting the overlap from the total length ( end to end ) of the spokes gives the ERD. 360mm is the figure I arrived at.

Quite possibly the latest rims are not the same as the (probably Velocity made) ones I got a year or so ago!

    Always worth measuring your own.
