I recently saw an advert for the small plastic loops that retain the cables on a Moulton bike, but now this has disappeared.
Can someone let me know where I can buy these
Thank you
If you are referring to the black rubber O-rings that set the junction pieces off the frame, then you need 7mm diameter ordinary O-rings available from any reputable plumbers merchants. They are frequently used for boiler parts.
I am refurbishing two Land Rover APB’s made in 1995 and 1996. The Land Rover logo head-set badges are badly damaged and measure 50 x 26mm oval-shaped, with gold ‘pressed’ lettering. Do you know if these are obtainable?
Hi there, who do I contact regarding the 4 speed indicator rod replacements? Thanks. Tom
The 4 speed indicator rods are provided by Brian Perkins whose details are in The Moultoneer. He has asked for his details not to be on the club website, although you could try contacting him through his own website http://www.bicyclehub.co.uk
Hi, Thanks for your quick reply – the email address in the Moultoneer does not appear to work, but I shall contact him via his site! Thanks.
Do you have contact details?
For which spare/service? Each provider’s contact details are on this page, except for Moulton Preservation, whose contact details are on the Moulton Preservation Page
Dear Mr. Foster,
I am also currently in the process of restoring my Golden Yellow Land Rover APB which I bought new back in 1994.
Due to the atmospheric humidity and salty air of the area where I am living (less than 20 steps away from the seashore) my LR APB has been seriously affected by rust on its paintwork and it was in desparate need of a new paintjob.
I have tried to contact Pasley about a couple of years ago and have asked them on whether they could provide me with a complete set of replacement LAND ROVER stickers and also all the Moulton or Pasley related stickers. Unfortunately their reply was late and negative.
So I am seriously considering on reproducing them by myself using the services of a specialized professional.
If you are also interested for such a complete set of stickers please let me know.
On the other hand I would be extremely helpful if you or any other of the readers of the message and owners of LR APB bicycles can provide me with any kind of instructions related to the proper disassembly procedure of our bicycles. I want to complete disassemble and strip down the bicycle but have run into some difficulty with the convace ball bearing mounts on the front wheel suspension mounting bracket and the “neck” where this is mounted on the front of the bicycle frame.
Thank you in advance for your kind input and I will be very happy to be able to assist you, if I can, on the subject of the Land Rover stickers for our bicycles.
Best regards from Greece

Hi Panthelis,
I just have seen your post regarding the disassembling of your Land Rover APB.
You will find the disassembling and assembling instructions of the front fork/suspension here on site in the technical section.
If you have further questions feel free to contact me via this website and send me your email address. Then you could also sent pictures to clarify were you are stuck.
Bye, Thorsten
Mainz, Germany
PS: We have met earlier in our life on several LR mailing lists and forums.
Dear Thorsten,
it is in fact a very small world after all, isn’t it?????
After spending some time scratching my head and considering ways to disassemble the front part of the LR APB I was finally able to remove all items from it simply by using a long steel rod, some force and persuasion and the wonder liquid against rusted nuts, bolts and ferrous surfaces. (a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF that you also, as a Land Rover owner, must know as the homebrew WD40 equivalent)
The LR APB is now in pieces and I am currently in the process of first trying to locate a full set of genuine stickers (both the LR APB specific ones with the LR lettering and logos and the Moulton Pashley ones with the company logos and the patents). If the Moulton does not have them or offer them anymore then I will have to resort into creating new ones. Pashley has already replied to my enquiry about a couple of years ago with a negative answer as they do not keep any stock of said stickers.
Thanks for contacting me, it is always a joy to be hearing from you!!!!
Take care
Pantelis
Hi, I am in the early stages of restoring a Mk 1 Moulton Deluxe .While stripping down I noticed a fracture on the detachable rear forks.I have successfully removed them and taken them up to my local garage for welding, but in the process had no choice but to destroy the large pin that holds the forks to the frame. Has anyone come across this problem . and if so, any idea if anything is available or will I have to have one made ? In addition I removed the rubber bush assembly because of the welding, any idea if these are available ? although I could re-fit this if necessary. I am also looking for new bearings all round, and I take it bearing grease is the one ? Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks, Martyn.
Hi, I’me getting on with my restoration and have now taken what remained of the old fork mounting through bolt for re-fabrication at a local engineering firm. So I have now turned to the front forks and have been unable , so far to undo the fixing scew that holds the suspension assembly inside the fork. I have tried a freezing agent and WD40. I know there is an option of Plus Gas , but before I potentially ruin the screw head within, does anyone know how important it is to remove this assembly, given that the ribbed column that leads up to it is easy to grease, What else is in there that needs servicing ?? I would appreciate some advice. thanks, Martyn
Hi Martyn, any advice the editor of these pages can offer is vastly inferior to the collective wisdom of the membership which you can tap into on the Group/Forum pages. http://www.moultonbuzz.com/community/forums/ Best of luck!
I have been unable to remove the screw within the fork column .Did I see a service for replacement ones on here ? Can you point me in the right direction please. It’s a 63 De Luxe by the way . Thank
s Martyn
Hi Martyn, you’d be much better off asking technical questions on the forum, where the collective wisdom of the community can be tapped into. You won’t get much response in the comments. Good luck!
Is anybody there ????????????
Hi,
I have 4 alex moultons, 4 speed, mini, mk3, and Am7. I am currently restoring my 1984 am7 and want to know where I can get brake caliper adapters? I am currently running Dura Ace 7800 group with capreo wheelset. I am trying to convert from long reach to short reach to match my Dura Ace 7800 group. I’ve seen them but have no idea where to get them? Other items that I am also looking for are cable stop from 7 speed to 14 speed. possibly front head badge.

Moultoneer,
I would appreciate advice as to the “yellow” paint used for Moulton’s.
I have an ATB in need of a touch up. I have need of a make and colour to match the bike.
I tried BOA for advice but typically it isn’t forthcoming!
Advice would be appreciated
Thanks
John
Hi, Does anyone know the dimensions (internal and external) of the mini Moulton front fork bellows I am having problems trying to obtain one, Brian Perkins has suggested that it is possible to use say automotive bellows unfortunately I do not have old one to measure.
P.S. Brian has been very helpful thanks Brian.
Try Michael Woolf at Moulton Preservation, ‘Landalls’, 37 Ferring Street, Ferring Village, West Sussex, BN12 5JN
He supplies new front fork bellows for the larger F-frame Moultons. Be might just have a Mini one to sell.
Michael communicates primarily by letter, so a letter with a self-addressed envelope included is the only way.
